However, intense UV radiation penetrates directly into the dermis and triggers photolysis—a chemical reaction where high-energy light photon waves shatter dense ink clusters into tiny micro-fragments.

Once pigment particles are broken down into smaller fragments, the surrounding macrophages digest and flush them away through the lymphatic system, leading to permanent loss of color and sharpness.
UVA vs UVB: The Two Solar Enemies
